Travel Grant to participate in 33rd Annual Meeting & Exposition of the Controlled Release Society held at Vienna, Austria.
The travel grant was given to two students Mr. Sagar Mandawgade, U.I.C.T and Mr. Hemang R. Joshi, Principal K.M.K., for presentation of posters at 33rd Annual Meeting & Exposition of the Controlled Release Society held at Vienna, Austria. They presented the posters entitled "Development and Evaluation of Solid Lipid Nanoparticles from Natural Lipids" and "A Novel Mucoadhesive Dosage Form with Rapid Mucus Turnover" respectively.

CRS-Local Chapters Board of Directors Joint meeting held at Vienna was attended by Vice-President Dr. Amarjit Singh.
Dr. Amarjit Singh made presentation on the activities of Indian Chapter that were greatly appreciated and applauded. A certificate of recognition for outstanding service to the Controlled Release Society was given to the Chapter.
Seventh International Symposium on "Advances in Technology & Business Potential of New Drug Delivery Systems" on 13 - 14th February 2007
Controlled Release Society - Indian chapter organized Seventh International Symposium on Advances in Technology & Business Potential of New Drug Delivery Systems on 13 - 14th February 2007 at ITC Hotel Grand Maratha Sheraton & Towers, Andheri (E), Mumbai - 400 099.
This international meeting was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Jain, Joint Managing Director, Panacea Biotech Limited, who also delivered an inaugural lecture on the Theme of the Symposium. Mr. Ajit Singh, President CRS - Indian Chapter welcomed the guests and delegates while Dr. Amarjit Singh Vice President CRS - Indian Chapter appraised the audience about the mission of the Indian Chapter. Dr. (Mrs.) K.K. Singh Secretary CRS - Indian Chapter presented floral bouquets while Prof. H.L Bhalla President Emeritus CRS - Indian Chapter proposed the vote of thanks and gave mementos to the dignitaries
The guest of honour, Dr. Tadanori Mizoguchi, Senior Advisor for International Affairs at Tokyo University of Science, expressed the need for cooperation and collaboration between institutions in India and Japan in the development of NDDS for Infectious Diseases in Asian Countries.
The main theme of symposium was newer developments in field of Drug Delivery Systems with special focus on design strategies for targeted, cellular and bioadhesive drug delivery, drug transporters, recent developments in NDDS products and IPR issues.
There was a special session on excipients showcase where three companies viz. Noveon, Asahi-Kasei and International specialty products focused on their core technologies and capabilities.
